The WE ARE Festival 2024 begins!
World Premiere at IGLU
The children and teenagers at the IGLU youth center in Salzburg were the first to try out the self-invented and programmed games created by the Game Jam participants. Three game boxes were set up in the youth center, immediately drawing the attention of visitors with their flashing and glowing buttons and LED circles. In total, around 20 children and teenagers played the three games "Leka Satomi," "Ibrahim Says," and "The Color Safe."
Luck, Skill, Memory
Each of the three presented games has its own challenges. "Quite tricky," remarked one teenager attempting to find all the hidden color clues in "The Color Safe." In the gambling game "Leka Satomi," joy and frustration are very close together. "This is impossible," snorted one child, giving up. Shortly afterward, a supervisor won the gambling game — so it is possible, though frustrating! "Ibrahim Says," on the other hand, has nothing to do with luck or skill. This game requires brainpower. Those who play it are deeply absorbed and focused, as the challenge is to remember an increasingly long sequence of colors.
Grand Game Presentation on December 18 at the Kulturpavillon Liefering
The three games and a self-developed werewolf game variant by children and teenagers can be tested on December 18 at 4:00 PM in the Kulturpavillon Liefering, alongside the polycular escape game "Escape Fake." Food and drinks will be provided, as playing makes you hungry and thirsty!
