Subtext III

The photo book Subtext III deals with street photography and Reinhold Bidner's photographic view of this world. How important is the quiet, personal view in times of Instagram, visual loudness and constant sensory overload? In this book, numerous random and everyday observations, which were captured while traveling but also in Vienna and Austria, are put in context in the form of image-pairs. How important is the photo book as a medium in times of too much digital visual information? This question also arises in this project.

After several years of collecting, observing, pausing and waiting, Bidner finally processed his archive of everyday observations and with it the third part of the Subtext-Series came to life. The first presentation of Subtext III took place in mid-November 2019 in the "Schaustelle" in Vienna 5.
