WE ARE Game Studio at Children's City Mini-Salzburg
We spent three weeks in July with our WE ARE Game Studio at the Kinderstadt (Childen´s City) Mini-Salzburg. At our station, around 40 children painted, programmed, crafted, and wrote every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Media artist Sarah Fitterer accompanied and supported the children every day.
At the Game Studio, the children completed:
➡️ 10 mini computer games,
➡️ 7 QR code scavenger hunts, and
➡️ 5 interactive stories.
On top of that:
➡️ An endless story with 94 chapters and 106 images, and
➡️ the longest game in the Children's City, with 41 levels.
And that's not all:
➡️ 3 original board games were invented.
➡️ We created 12 puzzles of the day for the children's newspaper.
➡️ 300 pictures were drawn on our tablets.
➡️ 3 superpower videos featuring self-designed effects were filmed and edited.
➡️ 5 game soundtracks were composed and recorded.
➡️ A Let's Play of the longest game in the city was filmed and edited.
➡️ We completed 6 assignments for other stations.
➡️ 5L of water was drunk during our drink-more-water game!
➡️ We presented a Let's Play of the endless story on stage.
➡️ The children organized 3 chess tournaments.
➡️ The children set up and ran a game station at the art festival.
➡️ Around 20 more games were started and remain unfinished so far.
➡️ We held 8 morning meetings, 4 of which were led entirely by the children from the Game Studio management team!
➡️ We had to make repairs 4 times.
At the Game Studio, the children learned how to work together, laugh together, and negotiate ideas. New friendships were formed and real teamwork was put into practice. A real game studio in miniature!
All completed games can be played at erfindedeinspiel.com!
Have fun, and a huge thank you to all the creative minds!
We are thankful for this great cooperation with the Verein Spektrum!
