Digithalia Festival 2026
The festival celebrating theatre and digital art is entering its third year! In March 2026, “DIGITHALIA – Festival for Virtual Theatre Forms Graz” will once again focus on exploring innovative forms of storytelling.
For four days, ‘DIGITHALIA’ transforms the Schauspielhaus Graz into a platform for theatrical formats that venture into the unreality of the virtual world, raising questions about community, power and resistance. The third edition brings together texts, performances and multimedia works that explore the possibilities of coexistence: Wer steckt hinter den Avataren und Bots? Who is behind the avatars and bots? Who prefers to remain anonymous, and who is looking for a new community? As bots manipulate communication networks and platforms open themselves up to dubious truths, new skills are needed: tools and an understanding of how we want to talk to one another, and how we can negotiate trust, information and knowledge together.
“DIGITHALIA” presents regional and international guest performances as well as productions by the Schauspielhaus Graz. Through theatre, games, films, installations and concerts, the Schauspielhaus becomes a meeting place for anyone wishing to discover how theatre can engage with the digital world and what the digital world thinks of theatre.
