On April 23, we were at the GIRLS’ DAY at the SciEnnsPark in Altenmarkt (Pongau) with our WE ARE workshop Sound and Music in Games together with Paula Langthaler.
What makes games and films exciting, sad, scary, or funny? The soundscape plays a crucial role. In the workshop, participants explored and created their own sounds in the Foley lab, and played sound-based games and quizzes together.

gold extra ist eine Gruppe von Künstler*innen, die an den Schnittstellen von Spielen, digitaler Kunst, Theater, Film und bildender Kunst arbeitet. Sie forschen an der Entwicklung neuer Formate, z.B. im Bereich dokumentarischer Computerspiele und Robotertheater und beschäftigen sich mit Spielen als Kommunikationsplattformen für gesellschaftspolitische Themen. Die Idee schafft das Format - für die künstlerische Arbeit von gold extra ist die konstante Forschung nach innovativen künstlerischen Ausdrucksformen eine zentrale Aufgabe.

gold extra is a group of artists creating artworks in and in between games, digital art, theatre and visual arts. They are exploring new formats, e.g. in the field of documentary computer games and robot theatre, and are experimenting with games as communication platforms for social and political issues. The idea creates the format - constant research into innovative artistic approaches is a central task for gold extra's artistic work.
